Daniel Muise
I grew up in Bloomfield, Prince Edward Island, where sport and the outdoors were a way of life. Hockey, golf, fishing, boating, and time spent outside helped shape my appreciation for movement and performance long before I became a physiotherapist.
My journey into physiotherapy began here on PEI while rehabilitating injuries of my own. Through that experience, I gained an appreciation for the impact that expert care can have on recovery and quality of life. It ultimately inspired me to pursue a career focused on helping others overcome injury, move with confidence, and return to the activities that matter most to them.
I completed my undergraduate studies at St. Francis Xavier University before earning a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University.
Following graduation, I joined a boutique physiotherapy clinic in downtown Halifax, where I developed a passion for delivering individualized care and helping patients understand the underlying causes of their pain and injury. Working in a one-on-one environment reinforced my belief that meaningful results come from taking the time to listen, assess thoroughly, and develop treatment plans tailored to each person’s unique goals.
While practicing clinically, I pursued extensive post-graduate training through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Over five years, I completed advanced coursework, mentorship, practical examinations, and clinical training under some of Canada’s leading physiotherapists.
This journey culminated in earning the Diploma of Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and the FCAMPT designation—the highest recognized clinical credential in orthopaedic manual and musculoskeletal physiotherapy in Canada.
In addition to orthopaedic training, I have continued to pursue education in areas including dry needling, concussion rehabilitation, running injury assessment and treatment, golf-specific assessment through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), osteoarthritis management through the GLAD® Canada program, and use objective strength and movement assessment using VALD technology. Ongoing professional development allows me to combine advanced clinical reasoning with specialized skills to provide patients with the highest standard of care.
When my wife and I decided to return home to Prince Edward Island to raise our family, I saw an opportunity to bring the training and clinical experience I had gained back to the community that shaped me. Muise Physiotherapy was founded with a simple goal: to provide Islanders with exceptional physiotherapy care in a private, one-on-one setting where every patient receives the time, attention, and expertise they deserve.
Today, my goal is to provide Islanders with the same level of physiotherapy care available in Canada’s leading orthopaedic clinics while maintaining the personal relationships and community values that make PEI special. At Muise Physiotherapy, my philosophy is simple: listen carefully, assess thoroughly, identify the root cause of the problem, and provide patients with the knowledge and tools they need to take an active role in their recovery. Every treatment plan is individualized, evidence-informed, and built around the goals that matter most to you.
When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me spending time with my wife and our two children, our friends and family and if I’m lucky: golfing, playing hockey, fly fishing, canoeing and camping.
